Evenline (“Evenline”, “we”, “us”) is an iPhone app for noticing patterns in your mood, energy, sleep and life events. It is operated by [OPERATOR]. This policy explains what information the app and the website at getevenline.com handle, where it goes, and the choices you have.
The short version
- Your journal — check-ins, notes, life events, your support plan and imported sleep — is stored encrypted on your iPhone. We don't receive it.
- You don't need an account to use Evenline. An account is only needed if you choose to share with a companion.
- Only entries you explicitly mark Shared with a companion are sent to our server, and only the person you approved can see them.
- We don't sell your data, show ads, use analytics or tracking SDKs, or share health information with advertisers or data brokers.
- You can export or delete your data at any time from inside the app.
1. Information that stays on your iPhone
Most of what you put into Evenline never leaves your device:
- Check-ins (mood, energy, sleep feelings, experiences you note), life events, private notes and your answers to optional questionnaires.
- Your support plan, including any contacts and instructions in it.
- Sleep data read from Apple Health or Oura, and the patterns and notes Evenline computes from your data.
This information is encrypted with a key held in your iPhone's Keychain and is excluded from device backups unless you turn backups on in the app. Patterns and pattern notes are computed on your device; no outside AI service is used.
2. Information we process on our servers
Companion Mode (optional)
If you invite someone you trust, or accept an invitation, Evenline creates an account using Sign in with Apple. Our server then stores:
- Account details: an account identifier, the display name you choose, and the email address Apple provides (which may be a private relay address).
- Link details: who is linked to whom, the categories each person agreed to share, consent records, and when a link was created, paused or removed.
- Invitations: invitation codes and invitee email addresses are stored only as one-way hashes, never in readable form.
- Shared entries: only entries you mark Shared, in a limited form. Your own written words are included only if you turn on the note option and allowed written notes for that person. Safety-question answers are never sent; the server refuses them.
- Companion observations: what a companion records about how you seemed, which you can review before it appears.
- Access history: a record of who accessed or changed what in a shared space, which you can view.
Access is enforced on the server, so each person can only read what the other has agreed to share. Pattern notes and early-warning results are never sent to a companion as alerts.
Oura (optional)
If you connect an Oura ring, you sign in on Oura's own page. Our server exchanges the one-time authorization code with Oura and passes the access tokens back to your iPhone. We don't store your Oura tokens or sleep data on our server; the tokens are kept in your iPhone's Keychain, and sleep data is downloaded from Oura directly to your device. Evenline only requests read access to sleep data. You can disconnect in the app or in your Oura account at any time.
Apple Health
If you allow it, Evenline reads sleep data from Apple Health. It never writes to Apple Health. Health data is kept on your device and is never sent to our server, used for advertising, sold or shared with third parties.
Website and technical data
The website has no cookies, analytics or trackers. Like any online service, our hosting providers process technical information such as IP addresses and request times to deliver pages and keep the service secure. We don't use this to identify you or build profiles.
3. Who we share information with
We don't sell or rent personal information, and we don't share it for advertising. We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf, only to run Evenline:

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect someone's safety, and we'll limit any disclosure to what is required. If Evenline is ever transferred to a new owner, this policy will continue to apply to information collected under it.
4. Notifications and exports
Notifications are off by default and never contain the details of your entries. Reports and data exports are created only when you ask, and you choose where to send them. Once a file leaves the app, it's no longer protected by Evenline.
5. Keeping and deleting information
- On your iPhone: you can delete everything Evenline stores under You › Privacy & Security. Deleting the app also removes it.
- On our server: deleting your account in the app removes your account, your companion links and the observations and shared entries stored with them. Removing a companion or pausing sharing takes effect immediately.
- Deleted server data may remain in our hosting provider's encrypted backups for a limited time before it is overwritten.
6. Your choices and rights
You can see, export, correct and delete your information in the app. Depending on where you live (for example in the EU, UK, California, Washington or Nevada), you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete or move your personal information, to withdraw consent, and to complain to a data protection authority. To make a request, email us at the address below. We won't treat you differently for exercising your rights.
Consumer health data
Information about your mood, sleep and wellbeing is consumer health data. We collect it only to provide the features you use, with your consent, and we don't sell it. You can withdraw consent at any time by disconnecting sources, turning off sharing or deleting your data. Where a law such as Washington's My Health My Data Act applies, you can ask us which data we hold and who we've shared it with.
7. Security
Data on your iPhone is encrypted, and our server uses row-level access rules so each person can only read what they're entitled to. Connections use HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your information, we'll notify you as required by law.
8. Children
Evenline is intended for adults aged 18 and over and isn't directed to children. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, please contact us so we can delete it.
9. International users
Our servers may be located in a different country from you. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above. If a change materially affects how we handle your information, we'll let you know in the app before it takes effect.
